Dear GTW Sisters,

What a winter we have been having! Storms full of wind and rain and snow have battered us on the physical plane. But inside, in the deepest part of ourselves, the embers of love for ourselves and humanity are glowing. We can be the change we want to see in our world when we allow that love to flow through us and manifest into being and action. This is Gather the Women, connecting with women around the world heart to heart, lifting each other up, being there, supporting in whatever way we can.

Right here, right now we need your support to make the March 8 Gather the Women event a resounding success. The theme is Woman to Woman: Being the Change You Want to See in the World. If you can, come to the Steering Wheel meetings this month. See info. below. If you know of anyone who may want to be a sponsor, let us know right away. The day of the event needs are flowers from your gardens, people to help set up, artists to display their work, women to take tickets and be greeters, people to help clean-up afterwards. For those who have attended in the past, you know the power of this event. It happens through intention, careful planning and execution. We need your assistance. For a variety of personal reasons (family, health, moving out of the area) serveral of our key players are unable to participate this year. If you feel called to help in any way, we would appreciate your support.

DRUM SOME FUN Thur., Feb. 21, 6:45 - 9:00 p.m. Contact: Judith Hurley Prosser judith4u@att.net This group is more than just a drumming circle. It's a safe place to come and be who you are. We drum, we sing, we dance, we tone, we touch one another at the soul level. You are welcome to join us in the sacred space of the Center for Love and Light. This evening falls on the Full Moon. It should be wonderful! Please note that we cancel in the event of snow. For directions and carpool info., please e-mail Judith.

Kathleen's intention for doing the rituals is to ignite a flame of remembrance within bring it forward into our world. Please note the different days and times for the following rituals:

THURSDAY FEBRUARY 21st from 6pm to 9pm Full Moon ritual around LOVE And bringing more love flowing into your life.

SATURDAY MARCH 29h from 1pm to 5pm The Great Calling... This follows the Great Burning ritual we had here on January 26th with 27 women in the sweat lodge and numerous women with us from a distance holding the intention and space. The Great Calling is to connect to women, Native Americans and African Americans who were taken from their native land. The intention of this ritual is going back to that place where their connection to Source to Mother Earth was attempted to be severed. May we bring up that wound and release it and create the dream of an Earth that works for all people all life. The intention is for this ritual to go out to the world.

SUNDAY MAY 4th from 1pm to 5pm Building a Labyrinth of LOVE and world peace. You are invited to come and help create the building of a labyrinth made of stones. With each stone a woman places on the ground a prayer and intention will be said to create a world of love and balance, a world that works for everyone, for all life. Come help create this dream! The intention for this ritual is for it to be done all over the world in some form.

PEACE ART CIRCLE Contact: Sandra Miller, 478-9550 Peace Art is moving along at a steady pace. We are working on our brochure right now. We need help making a website if anyone is interested we would welcome you. We are planning an event for 2008 not sure of the location but looking into this now. The event will be pieces of art that represent peace to you. The forms could be poetry, music dance, drawing, painting, photography, meditation etc. Basically any way one wishes to express what Peace is to them. There is another organization that is called Global Peace Art Project that was created by Katherine Josten their web site http://www.global-art.org/index.html, go look at it. We could make our event a two fold event for those who would like to do it. Every two years Global Peace Art exchanges an original piece of art with someone in another country or state and anyone who would like use the piece of art they do for our show could also use it to exchange with another person for theirs. MEDITATION CIRCLE Contact: Patt Lind-Kyle 478-9622 patt@lindandkyle.com The meditation is a form of East and West meditation using as its base the new brain research on meditation and Buddhist meditation. This group usually meets the first Wed. of the month at Patt's meditation cottage. Although currently closed, ther group will be open to new memebers next March 2008.

MONEY CIRCLE Contact: Judy Nichols, 477-9120 13447 Idaho Maryland Rd., Nevada City This is a practical circle giving insights on money, how you feel about it, how to attract it and more. Please RSVP to Judy for more info. and directions.

SACRED CIRCLE COUNCIL Contact: Janice O'Brien 265-5403 JimJan1566@aol.com This group usually meets on the third Thursday of each month. It is currently closed, as new members were added at the April 17 meeting and 12 is their limit. They use the principles of Christina Baldwin's, Calling the Circle - First and Future Culture to ask and discern solutions to personal challenges as well as community issues. This circle is what brought about Janice's involvement with starting Hospitality House - the Shelter for the Homeless.

SEED CIRCLE TO CREATE A HOLISTIC REHABILITATION CENTER Contact: Janice O'Brien 265-5403 jimjan1566@aol.com I will be putting together a Circle to discern and go forth with the dream of a holistic rehabilitation Center for alcohol and drug addiction here in Nevada County. Anyone interested in this dream to manifest please call me.

THE US, THE UN AND YOU: Towards a Better World Future

Friday Feb. 22 7-9 St. Josephs Cultural Center 410 S. Church St. G.V.

Former UN Assistant Secretary – General, GILLIAN SORENSEN is an expert of matters related to the UN and the US-UN. She will address the complexities of the US-UN relationship and the future of the U.N. She will also address the difference you can make towards positive change in our community. Followed by a panel who will bridge to this community. Encouraging involvement with local groups and projects.

Donation is $10 and $5 for students.

GTW is represented on the panel, and we have the opportunity to distribute our March 8th flyers and take sign ups for GTW circles and other events. Could we have two volunteers to handle that at the U.N. Event?
