Dear GTW Sisters, We're moving into June with a lot of momentum in our circle groups. Please check out all the opportunities available below. If you have not already, please go to the website, www.gatherthewomen.org, and sign-in. This will help the global matrix level of GTW have an accurate idea of how many women are participating in GTW activities and it will also make it possible for you to receive infrequent e-mails from them updating you on national and global events. Women connecting heart to heart around the planet can make all the difference.

GTW REGIONAL COORDINATORS GATHERING Fri. July 18 - Sun. July 20 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Angie Lux, Mary Elizabeth Young and Marilyn Nyborg will be attending this first of its kind gathering with GTW Regional Coordinators and other active participants in their region. Following our first real time meeting, we have invited other women’s organizations who are aligned with GTW’s work to join us to explore ways to collaborate. Jean Shinoda Bolen will be there along with the director of Peace X Peace to name a few. It will be a small group and the theme is “Getting to Know You� and the excitement of meeting is building!! All are welcome. If you feel called to attend this event or want more info. on it, please contact Marilyn Nyborg at 477-8080. Also, some of the women who want to attend this event need financial help, either in air miles or funding. If you can assist, please let Marilyn know. Thank you.
GTW Steering Wheel Contact: Marilyn Nyborg, 477-8080 Be a part of the group that sources Gather the Women of Nevada County. We have many ongoing activities throughout the year, which we oversee, as well as the annual March 8th event. Everyone is welcome. The next meeting will be in August.
RITUAL....Labyrinth of Conscious Creation Please note that there will not be any rituals during June or July as I am in workshops and travelling nearly the entire time! The next ritual will be in August - date to be announced. It will be held at Nancy Herrick's magical retreat haven on RockCreek. There are multiple waterfalls and pools of water which will be part of the ritual. Nancy and I will co lead this ritual which is in the process of being created at this time! DREAM CIRCLE, First & Third Wednesdays in May & June, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. Contact: Donna Fisher-Jackson, 477-7849, Donna.Fisher.Jackson@att.net This circle is a small, intimate group limited to six women to allow for more sharing of night-time dreams. If there is enough interest, there will be a Dream Circle throughout the summer. Donna is a holistic counselor, hypnotherapist, and astrologer who has worked with dreams for many years, and enjoys the insight and guidance that can come from working with your dreams in a group. PEACE ART CIRCLE Contact: Sandra Miller, 478-9550 Art for Peace is working on an event for April 18,19 & 20 2009. We are meeting June 12, July 10 at the Briar Patch Market;s Community Room doors open at 5:30 P.M. Meeting time is 6:00 PM to 8 PM. Grab some food and join us! We are planning to have the month of April a month of Peace. We hope to have shows in restaurants, Café’s, and have a peace walk through Nevada City and Grass Valley. So there is peace before and after the Multi Media event on “What is Peace to You? How can you express that peace through any form of art? MEDITATION CIRCLE Contact: Patt Lind-Kyle 478-9622 patt@lindandkyle.com The meditation is a form of East and West meditation using as its base the new brain research on meditation and Buddhist meditation. This group usually meets the first Wed. of the month at Patt's meditation cottage. Although currently closed, ther group will be open to new memebers next March 2008.

SACRED CIRCLE COUNCIL Contact: Janice O'Brien 265-5403 JimJan1566@aol.com This group usually meets on the third Thursday of each month. It is currently closed, as new members were added at the April 17 meeting and 12 is their limit. They use the principles of Christina Baldwin's, Calling the Circle - First and Future Culture to ask and discern solutions to personal challenges as well as community issues. This circle is what brought about Janice's involvement with starting Hospitality House - the Shelter for the Homeless.

This group allows women to connect on-line with each other during an ideal time that suits each woman's schedule. "Within each and every one of us lies a source of wisdom, also known as our Spirit...Regardless of our religious beliefs or disbeliefs, we must nurture this mysterious and often buried Spirit if we are to be fully alive and to experience peace...What makes women's spirituality groups distinct from therapy groups or support groups or groups of just friends is that the central purpose of the group is to nourish the member's spiritual development." They should also let Marilyn know if they are willing to set up the first meeting; she will forward names and contact information to that volunteer.

Circles in process:
The Writer's Circle: (proposed at our April gathering). This was taken on by Susanna Dimmitt as the point person but has never had an initial meeting. I (Susanna) am very sorry to say that I must reluctantly let this go as I am still having some (non-life threatening) health issues and just cannot seem to make this writer's circle fly. If there is someone else who would like to make it happen, I would love to turn over the names and emails of interested women to you.
In an effort to offer an alternative, I have found a writer's class open to all levels of experience, though it is not for women only. It's in Grass Valley beginning on June 3rd for 6 weeks through July 8th, on Tuesdays from 7:00 to 9:30 PM. The series cost is $200 and it is taught by Maxima Kahn, who is a writing coach. Workshop (not sponsored by GTW but looks good): "Mother-lines of Spirit" on June 21st from 1 to 4 PM, led by Carol Lee Flinders (friend of GTW), author of wonderful books about women's spirituality like "Enduring Grace: Living Portraits of Seven Women Mystics", and "At the Root of This Longing: Reconciling a Spiritual Hunger with a Feminist Thirst". Discovering Your Passion: interested women are Diane Whitney and Kathi Simonsen.

A Collaborative Conversation Among Women's Organizations

This gathering will bring together 60 women representing diverse women's organizations who focus on multi-cultural issues and opportunities. We will relax into a conversation about what we might be able to create together that we cannot create separately.

This short documentary chronicles the events of the Grassroots Africa Women's Conference & tour in Dec. of 2006. This conference would not have been possible with out the efforts of Global Partners for Development, Gather the Women, and Mama na Dada Africa.
