Comment: In the shadow of of the granite war memorial, the carved names of the Camden fallen were silent witness to a Mother's Day gathering for peace. Over 150 women, men and children gathered on the village green to imagine a peaceful and safe future for all the world's children. After calling the grandmother line to the circle in a Matrilineal naming ceremony, we read the original Mother's Day Proclamation written by Julia Ward Howe in 1870 and the statement of intention from Satnding Women.org . |
