In case you had trouble opening the link to the script from Laurie and Ann, which advances a UN Global Women's Conference for caucuses or governmental delegations or ambassadors, here it is again in pdf form, followed by the actual text. That is followed by Jean Bolen's suggestions of where to advocate and where the script could support that advocacy.

The women of my country suffer greatly from violence and poverty.

This is true for women all over the world.

African, Asian, (your country) women want to stop all violence. We want mothers to be empowered to raise healthy children.

We want the girl-child to grow up to be free, to have a good life.

We want women and children all over the world to be free from violence and poverty.

We want a UN Global Women’s Conference where everyone will come together to make this happen.

We are Enough and have Enough to stop violence.

We are Enough and have Enough to bring peace.

A Global Women’s Conference will unite us as the people of the world working together--- mothers, fathers, daughters and sons.

Our world is in crisis. Women lead the way to solutions in their communities. Women know what to do to stop violence and to help one another.

This will not take place until a country of the United Nations steps forward and asks the UN to make this happen. Will YOUR country step forward?

Will we as a caucus step forward?

What you can do (where you can deliver the script) while here for the CSW:

1. Visit your country’s mission/embassy—and tell them you want your country to support the Secretary General and President of the General Assembly’s March 8, 2012 request to pass a resolution to convene a 5th World Conference on Women. For developing countries, this can be very effective..

2. USA—email to request to be on the list to attend briefings (and carry the message there) --if you didn’t sign up on Consultation Day: Peggy Kerry, kerryp@state.gov. She is the State dept liasion to NGOs.

3. Attend your Regional Caucus (page 4 of the NGO CSW Forum 2013 at CSW57 Parallel Events Schedule). Lobby the caucus to support 5WCW.

4. What you can do when you go home: tell your government officials that you want them to support 5WCW in the General Assembly.
