I am a woman, wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, community and political activist, traveler, reader, and a caller of women's circles. I retired from the classroom but am still employed by my school system coordinating AP testing and encouraging AP students. I officiate weddings, celebrate brides, welcome new babies, honor retirees, do house blessings and expectant mother blessings, and create many circles for women, young and old.
I am a very excited first time grandmother to my darling little Mabel. In sum, I am a retired classroom teacher, local GTW coordinator, passionate progressive, education advocate, and community activist. Professionally, I am called 'Mrs Brewick' or 'Dorothy.' Family and friends call me 'Rowdy' and yes, there is a story. I am happy, busy, and very excited to be going to the UNCSW and look forward to the blessings that I will receive from sitting in circle with so many women. |

I like to think that we are "illuminating the circuitry" of ourselves-- as Light Beings. This is happening as we connect with individuals globally who are consciously attuned to cocreating the planeteary awakening. I can imagine living in a world of pure awareness where we naturally acknowledge the fact that we are ONE BODY OF HUMANITY.

I believe that humanity has gone as far as it can go in the direction of competition and self-interest. The pendulum is swinging in the opposite direction now: the meek shall inherit the earth, the western women will save the earth, we are the ones we've been waiting for. We bring heart-based wisdom in service to all of humanity. We carry enough peace in our hearts to be the calm at the center of the storm. We bring enough compassion to create a culture of kindness, and to spark an awareness of our true nature so that humankind may create from a place of interconnectedness and oneness at last. I am a writer, a mom, a wife, and very fortunate to be working within the gifted women of Imagine the Good Foundation. We seed circles using the documentary, "Heart to Lead - Women as Allies for the Greater Good," and we host a letter writing circle which unites women residing in prison with women in the outside world called Inward Journey. |

Co-founder and co-director of Circle Connections, a global hub for circle work, play, co-creativity and dreams. www.circleconnections.com
I have been blessed to have worked for the past thirty years around the world with women in Circles. I have been culturally enriched and nurtured in the Divine Feminine. Co-designing leadership programs and resources and training of circle facilitators gives me the greatest joy and sense of accomplishment. To see women and girls step into their feminine power is a dream come true.
I love being part of the international women's spirituality movement as well as locally. Working both with grassroots women and girl's empowerment as well as with high level officials brings an integrative approach for sustainable change. Circle Connections sponsors the UN Women's Circles and support a UN 5WCW.
Rhonda Hull, Caroline Ravelo and I are working with many partners in bringing nurturing online and in-person events where everyone fully participates and receives ongoing support. Our Circle Connections newsletter edited by Rosjke Helledine from the UK has circle stories, tips, resources and events. We have many exciting new plans ready to be given birth this coming year. Visit our website, join as a member and come join us in co-creating a new earth, one circle, one connection, one step at a time.
Namaste!!!

I live in Rapid City, SD. I've been retired from the school system for 8 years where I worked as a school counselor, a rich and rewarding career. Now my path is leading me in the direction of becoming a peacemaker. I seem to be pulled or pushed along this path in spite of myself. I just finished a week long intensive workshop in Nonviolent Communication which was very transformative and very powerful. I am a mediator for Restorative Justice, a Zen practitioner, and a traveller; I love to visit new countries and I love the journey into me, which is part of my Zen path. I am married to Ken and Max, our cocker, runs our life. I am on the school board in my community and involved with lots of other things. |

I am a midwife and have assisted in the birth of more than 1000 babies; I know what wondrous things women can accomplish! Now I labor to assist in the birth of a new age and global spiritual community, and although the passage may be arduous and long, I believe good will prevail and a new and better world will be born.
I am passionate about honoring and celebrating the Sacred Feminine and co-coordinated a program to do just that at the last Parliament of World Religions in Australia in 2009. This year at CSW, I hope to be play a part again in bringing women together to discuss and plan how we can best serve Her at the next Parliament in 2014.

I'm a woman, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a community member, an activist, a feminist, a woman who loves to dance, to practice Spanish, to eat in outdoor cafes, to drink good coffee, to spend time with men if they are funny and like women as people, to write, to gather with women.
I believe that women will change the world and I intend to do my part! |

Author, Emissary and Ceremonialist Maria Yraceburu skillfully and elegantly tempers the boundary between prophecy and prose. With her books and events, including Legends & Prophecies of the Quero Apache, Prayers & Meditations of the Quero Apache, Words of Power and Essays on Identity, she has carved out a unique and cherished place in evolution's historic landscape.
Yraceburu's ceremonial “voice” is deeply rooted in her experiences as a child in her lineage tradition of Apache Tlish Diyan. Growing up under the guidance of her traditional grandfather instilled in her a magical, yet often-ignored perspective. Says Yraceburu, “I owe everything to how I was brought up, how my ancestors walked as one with the land. I just never forget it. It’s a big wave of energy that keeps me going with every pulse.” Known for her candid and emotionally honest perspective, in 1999 her work attracted the attention of Arielle Ford, founder of the Ford Group and metaphysical advertising guru, where she was given the opportunity to be included in the anthology Hot Chocloate for the Mystical Teenage Soul. Arielle went on to become literay agent for Maria's first two books before retiring.
Yraceburu won the Humanitarian Award from the Third World Counselors Association for her ground breaking workin in ecopsychology with women suffering from post traumatic stress of childhood sexual abuse. Her dedication and commitment to getting the teachings of indigenous elders out into the world, inspired the founding of the Sisters of Honua Project in 2008. Yraceburu is at work raising funds to purchase land for the Taanaashkaada Sanctuary, a place where traditional lifestyle and teachings can facilitate healing and sustainability for all involved.
Spiritual Directior of Yraceburu EarthWisdom, she has been guest lecturer at the University of Califoria, San Diego on the Antropolgy of Medicine for years, and featured Guest at the 2007 Global Medicine Project Conference in Santa Barbara. She's also the 2009 recipient of the Presidential Humanitarian Award. Prior to founding Yraceburu EarthWisdom in 2002, Yraceburu began her ceremonial career in 1964 with her grandfather, Apache HolyMan Juan Ten Bears Yraceburu, followed up with teachings by Matthew King (Lakota), Buffalo Jim (Seminole), Rolling Thunder (Cherokee/Shoshone) and Grams Twylah Nitcsh (Seneca).
“UNIVERSALLY APPRECIATED and many of my students expressed to me that Maria made a different in their lives!!" - Lola Ramanucci Ross, professor UCSD, Cross-cultural Medicine |

A group of concerned longtime interfaith activists has recently formed the Interfaith Encounter Association (IEA). Our vision is a society in which the otherness of the other is not only accepted, but truly understood and respected. We wish to make a significant contribution to the fulfillment of this vision through the Interfaith Encounter Association, which will be guided by the following basic principles and goals:
Equal representation of all faiths in the Association
Equality of the genders in the decision making processes and activities of the Association
Outreach to individuals from all faiths, age groups, walks of life and levels of society
Outreach to individuals across the religious-secular and political spectrums
Continual recruitment through committed activists on the local and regional levels
Implementation of interactive programs that effectively change outlooks and attitudes, such as extended weekend seminars and ongoing study groups
Continual development of new interactive models for effective encounter
Ongoing evaluation of all strategies and programs to promote peace. |

Hi! I'm Susan Lyons and I'm so excited to be part of this amazing group of women! I am a member of the Turtle Island Council of Grandmothers, made up of Mohawk, Algonquin, Apache, Cree, and other Tribal Women. We are the core Council for Grandmothers Circle the Earth Foundation, and we travel to different parts of the world organizing Circles of women who then form their own core Councils. From this we begin the process of weaving the blanket of shared teachings, solutions, ceremonies, and community building that have been foretold in the Prophecies of many Nations. We work also with the Council of 28 Grandfathers from Greenland, Denmark, Turtle Island, New Zealand and more. I am the Founder and CEO of the Foundation, and accompanied by our Attorney Tiffany Stephens I am thrilled to be here and to support the Violence Against Women Act! |

Hello, I'm from Ireland. I am a Christian and I belong to the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary (Loreto Sisters) which is an international Catholic Religious Order. Presently, I am in ministry in a parish, but I have also considerable experience as a second-level teacher. More recently, I spent close on seven years working in Morocco as a teacher of English and as part of a women's micro-credit project. I am passionate about inter-faith dialogue as I believe that we women, of all faiths and none, need to talk to each other about the things that matter to us and work together as advocates for justice and peace. |
