Namaste'

Ann Smith's words are incredible! IMAGINE, in conjunction with Circles, UN Women, etc., a "movement of nonviolence," led by women, promoting humanity!

The events over the past 3 weeks have illustrated the strength of nonviolence. A women's movement of nonviolence would change the world! It would have the strength to affect the male dominant world of economics, the military, and hence, politics. All of this could be done with the help of the UN and Michelle Bachelet.

Please investigate an initiative called a Call to Women, a World-Wide Unity Campaign. It promotes a Global Strategy of Nonviolence, For the Children (GSofNV). A comprehensive "guideline" has been developed for administration, funding, marketing, implementation, and follow-up. A GSofNV is for the children now, the children of the future, and as a metaphor for the future, for change, and for working together (the "constructive" phase of a Gandhi type movement).

The people of the world are waiting for something good to happen! Women can make it happen! A Call to Women is designed to capture the world's attention, create a "critical mass," and attain political clout - GLOBALLY.

A Call to Women is not just about women. It is about working for humanity with women leading the way. Men are included (Civil Rights movement was led by Blacks but was for everyone). However, if women take the lead, it will make a “difference” and will surely affect their own issues.

A Call to Women goes much further than UN Res. 1325. Women must take the lead, not wait for it. Sister Joan Chittister, September 11th, 2004, at the Omega / V Day conference, “Women and Power” said, “The lives of our children, the protection of millions, the hopes of all humankind, wait again now for women, from opposite cultures, opposite tradition, to step over the line of political hatred to save them.” Sister Chittister alluded to women being in the forefront because being first brings “courage and hope to others”.

The world needs women now! Combine all the work of Circles, the organizations Ann mentions on her Circles page, and all the women's initiatives and groups with a "movement of nonviolence," and then, as Ann wrote, you will have the "the largest people’s movement in history," that has political clout!

The Door is Open! The Children are Watching!

Peace and Love,

Andre Sheldon, Director, Global Strategy of Nonviolence; Developer and Facilitator of initiative called a CALL to WOMEN; Cell # 617-413-9064; Home # 617- 964-5267; Andre@GlobalStrategyofNonviolence.org; calltowomen@rcn.com; www.GSofNV.org

P.S. I am a man, a person, who believes society can change from a male-dominated society to a partnership society (cultural transformation theory from the Chalice and the Blade) and am dedicated to help bring it to fruition. I cannot be the one to implement this plan. It needs women. I will work tirelessly to help facilitate it, but now, it is up to women, or Sister Joan, or someone to “jump-start” this movement. (Supported by Susan Shaer, Executive Director of WAND, Regina Birchem, former International President of WILPF, and many other prominent women)

Martin Luther King wrote in Strength to Love, about nonviolence, “It gives them new self respect. It calls up resources of strength and courage that they did not know they had. Finally, it so stirs the conscience of the opponent that reconciliation becomes a reality.”

“If a person with black hair sees a person with red hair, he or she sees someone different, but, if a person with black hair sees a child with red hair, he or she sees a child.” Adil Najam, Boston University, International Relations.
